Episode 118 : Rat VR, Curing Alzheimer’s, And Make The World A Better Place in The Mehta-verse - Mayank Mehta

Mayank Mehta did his PhD in quantum physics of space-time. Since then, his research has focused on understanding how our brain creates intelligence and abstract ideas such as space-time. They measure the activities of many individual neurons while rats navigate a virtual world. Theirs is the only lab in the world to directly measure how neurons respond to the virtual world and the real world. Using this and sophisticated mathematical techniques, they were able to ask many fundamental questions including: How does our brain determine what is real? Their research has a wide range of applications, from education to AI and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.
