Episode 198: The Socrates of Game Design - Alexander Brazie

Alexander Brazie is a global design director and gamification consultant. For over sixteen years, Alex has been working within the game industry as a designer, project leader, and head of learning & development for game designers who want to master their craft. His game combat and game systems design experience includes work on World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Ori & the Will of the Wisps and two unannounced AAA Projects for major studios.

Traveling the globe, Alex visits start-ups and established game teams to provide the valuable consultancy needed to design and apply gamification architecture that will deliver optimal results and creative solutions for business challenges. As a dedicated industry expert, Alex has consistently identified the true source of many development problems and disagreements for a number of companies, and assisted them through to resolution. Through his work helping game design and development teams, Alex is able to fix organizational and morale problems, while providing precise and accurate problem solving for complex or unique design problems.

Over the years, Alex has been a speaker at Game Development conferences on teaching and mentoring in game design, as well as how to develop game design teams.
